Maurice Louis Amédée Biais .Biais Maurice, born December 30, 1872 to Corbeil and died April 8, 1926 is a painter, draftsman and French poster.
Departing from Cheret style Maurice Biais is one of the most important designers of the Belle time. His art was renowned both in France and abroad: in 1901 he exhibited posters and drawings at Williams in New York.

By 1899, he designed furniture for La Maison Moderne, shop founded by Julius Meier-Graefe.

He married Jane Avril in 1911. They lived together in Jouy-en-Josas until 1926. They are buried in the Père-Lachaise (19th division) in the same grave. A son was born of this union.

Maurice Biais was awarded the Croix de Guerre 1914-1918.
